PKR to `teach’ SPR how to use indelible ink in elections

PKR is holding a party congress to `teach’ SPR how to use indelible ink in elections-so reported the message from its leader Sivarasa. PKR will adopt the indelible ink as a way to stop multiple voting or impersonations in its newly introduced direct elections for its central leadership positions-including the Youth and Women wings. This action should be commended for advancing democratic practices in the party said to be overly dependent on Anwar’s individual’s power. Intra-party democracy also may help to expedite changes which the reform party needs to deliver in Governments.

Other innovations to be adopted at the party congress which would advance PKR as the most `advanced’ party in terms of intra party democracy are: The president post holder will be limited to 3 terms of 9 years in all, something which copy the MCA practice.

PKR’s Youth will be defined as under 35,instead of the 40 years currently. This will put them ahead of many other parties which are led by leaders up to 45 years old.
